A sign of respect like eggplant flowers

Eggplants grow more commonly in tropical areas such as South east Asia. Since Florida Islands, West Indies, Mexico or Central America. Brazil and South America.

pea-eggplantIn Thailand, the eggplant is known as Ma-Khua. It is a very popular vegetable and is used in a wide variety of dishes, but is most commonly used in the famous Thai Green Curry. Most people might know the eggplant is the black long one but there are several types of eggplant and we use the small green one in green curry. The taste might be not tasty for someone but there it is full of goodness.

 

 

 

1371957131In our country we use the flower of the eggplant to give to our  teacher on Teacher’s day as a sign of respect and humbleness. Before the eggplant grows, the flower will bend down in a very similar way that one would bow down  to give respect. If the flower does not bend then it would not grow into the vegetable, therefore we believe that people should be respectful and humble just like the eggplant flower, for those who do not will not grow and blow away by the wind.
